Just listened to this song again after a long while and wanted to share it. In the fall of 2011 and early part of 2012 this song (and the whole Childish Prodigy album) meant a lot to me. I listened to it every day riding my bike to and from a bookstore where I was working, during a time when I felt super confused about life generally, and Childish Prodigy represented the possibilities of expressing myself through music. I’d listen to it on repeat… “Dead Alive”, this song, “Blackberry Song”… yes! Those songs meant more to me than Kurt Vile intended them to, but I guess that’s the good thing about music. I attached a romantic, ultimately positive and hopeful view of the world onto this music, it was sort of like a rallying cry to make things good.
Anyway, just wanted to share that. He will always have my respect for providing the music that gave me so much guidance!
