‘The four-piece band is known for its political messages and beliefs but lead singer Franklin James Fisher says Algiers’ latest album, There Is No Year isn’t a political allegory. Instead, it’s a deeply personal record, inspired by a journal he’d been keeping, which he called “Misophonia,” meaning a hatred of sound.’ Algiers discusses the creation of 2020’s “There Is No Year” and shares all new performances of three songs on today’s episode of World Cafe.

In addition to today’s announcement of “Valentine,” Snail Mail has also announced a worldwide tour including US runs both in the fall of 2021 and the spring of 2022, with UK and European dates kicking off in February of 2022. Following Valentine’s release, her US dates begin on November 27th in Richmond, VA at The National. In February, Snail Mail will head to the UK and EU for 20 stops including London at the O2 Forum Kentish Town on February 23rd, Le Trabendo in Paris on February 25th and wrapping up at Paradiso Noord in Amsterdam on March 16th. She’ll return to North America on April 5th hitting major venues across the country including Kings Theatre in Brooklyn on April 7th, the Riviera Theatre in Chicago on April 14th and the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on April 27th.

'You Heat Me Up, You Cool Me Down’ features a setlist of 17 songs that span the acclaimed artist’s entire discography including fan favorites “Easy Easy,” “Baby Blue,” “Out Getting Ribs” and more. In addition to the album’s upcoming digital release, the project is slated for a physical LP release on December 10th. A very limited amount of LP purchases will be bundled with an exclusive zine featuring tour and BTS photos curated by Archy.
