Kurt Vile describes his ‘casual supergroup performance of “speed of the sound of loneliness” at the station inn in nashville, TN: Captured back in late March, 2016, the night before we cut this song at the Butcher Shoppe. “Speed” (by John Prine) was the first song cut for this ep so it seems plenty appropriate we had 3 members of prine’s band up there on stage that night to set the cosmos straight… Although none of the below played on the ep save the legend Pat McGlaughlin who is the only studio musician on every single track (and what a hero!) And Ferg who recorded every track (another hero!) but I’ll take these 6 legends on the stage or any way, any day just as well, and hell… let’s do it again sometime, brothers.’

Live personnel: David “Ferg” Ferguson- bass

Kenneth Blevins- drums Jason Wilber- guitar

Pat McGlaughlin- guitar and harmonies

Shadd Cobb- fiddle

Mark Howard- mandolin

Candid cinematography by John Shields
