On Thursday, March 4th, Mary Timony will premiere a streamed concert, ‘Live at St. Mark’s.’ Shot in Washington, D.C. and directed by Brendan Canty, the set is centered around songs from her solo debut, 'Mountains,’ reissued in January for the album’s 20th anniversary. Timony is joined throughout the performance by musicians Mark Cisneros, David Christian, Amy Domingues, and Winston Yu.

Spoon has released a new track “Rainy Taxi (Big Beat)” available exclusively on Bandcamp. A new take on “Rainy Taxi” from the 2014 LP “They Want My Soul,” the single was recorded remotely in May 2020 by Spoon’s Britt Daniel and Alex Fischel in Austin TX and Los Angeles CA respectively.

‘But rather than chalking it up to the singles/album divide, it’s possible that the reason that Pavement’s “hits” don’t sound much different from their other songs is because most Pavement songs could’ve been hits. There are catchy melodies, memorable couplets, and endearing quirks in pretty much everything the band did. It’s not hard to imagine an alternate universe in which their best-of compilation, Quarantine the Past, consists of completely different tracks.
So we went ahead and imagined exactly that, picking 10 songs that could have just as easily been the tunes that made Pavement one of their generation’s most talked-about indie rock bands. We selected from across their history, considering only songs that weren’t released as singles and didn’t make it onto Quarantine.’
